Learning the French language is a prerequisite for successful integration into Quebec society and sustainable integration into the job market. The free French courses offered at Petites-Mains are open to all immigrants, men and women alike.

French courses at Petites-Mains are open to all immigrants, men and women.
Our organization is a proud partner of the Quebec government, offering part-time French language training at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Our courses run from Monday to Thursday, mornings (9am to 12pm) or afternoons (1pm to 4pm).
French is the official and common language of Quebec. It is the language of public institutions, work, education, communications, commerce and business. French is also a common symbol of belonging and participation in Quebec society.

It is the only point of access to French language learning services for :
- persons aged 16 and over on July 1 preceding the application for admission and domiciled in Quebec :
- immigrants;
- Canadian by birth;
- workers in companies wishing to receive these services;
- people planning to settle in Quebec.
Quebec government French courses are free of charge. Incentive financial assistance is also available to eligible individuals, subject to certain conditions.
These French courses are offered :
- full-time or part-time;
- in class or remotely;
- in every region of Québec.
There are also course formulas:
- fully online or remotely off-line;
- specialized by field of employment;
- in the workplace.

The staff are friendly and approachable. I enjoy learning with other people who are also new to Montreal. The course is very useful to me, as it has helped me improve my French and enabled me to speak more at work and with my colleagues. I highly recommend Petites-Mains because of their attentiveness and disposition with students, their beautiful facilities, their proximity to a metro and bus station, and the hours offered. What I appreciated most about Petites-Mains was their attitude towards students. From the very first moment, they welcomed me very kindly, and they’re always available to help you with anything you need. What’s more, I love the way my teacher Florence makes us not only learn French, but also understand it, always having fun doing it. They allowed me to enroll in their school.
